REFLECTING ON 2021:

How Did My Friendships Grow this Year?

Though not all of them did, there were a few friendships that got stronger this year. I suppose that they were the ones that showed me that there’s nothing wrong with me, but that there’s a season for everything and everyone in your life.

After reading the book Hero Maker, I became very intentional about growing my friendships. I wanted to be someone that was there for others and at the same time be able to help them grow and mature not just as a person, but in their own walk with God. I’ve been able to have a few one-on-one meetings with a few people since I made that decision and the results were surreal. I am now closer to them than I was before - I mean, what can grow to people closer than getting foot massages together?

Outside of these moments of intentionality, without even looking for it, God blessed me with a new group of friends that ended up blessing me before my trip to the Dominican Republic, blowing my mind away. This group led to the creation of a new sisterhood that I am excited to see grow in 2022.

So overall, not only did my friendships grow relationally, they also grew in number, and people who I simply just used to have surface level conversations with, have now become people I randomly text to check-in on them.
