The Truth About Us

We all have defect and deficiencies.

We are not perfect and we will never find anyone on this earth who is.

We can find someone who appears to be perfect, to have everything together, but look deeply and you will find that in actually they do not.

I don’t say this so that we can go through life looking for each other’s flaws, but so that we can live knowing that no one really has everything figured out and no one ever will. However, that is not to say that people don’t know how to live according to their situation, in fact, that should be our goal, not to master life, but to master our environment. Not in a conforming manner in which our environment consumes us, but in a way that we know how to handle our surrounding and the hand we’ve been dealt and also be able to take in any new card given to us.

We need to learn to be at peace no matter what comes our way, but peace doesn’t come through our own might for earthly peace is only temporary, soon, something would come to disrupt it. No, what we want is God’s peace, a peace beyond understanding. A peace that keeps us standing on solid ground even as everything quakes around us.

'“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”'

- Jeremiah 1:5, NLT

Accept that you are here for a reason, that you are not a mistake. Your situation does not define you nor does it explain why you are who you are or why you are where you are. What we do with out lives does. God placed you here for something.

'“He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve his needs—for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need. From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries. “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ And since this is true, we shouldn’t think of God as an idol designed by craftsmen from gold or silver or stone.'

- Acts of the Apostles 17:24-29, NLT

When no one else loves us [or when it feels like it] God is there. God chose you. You have been appointed by Jesus to bear fruit. So go out into the world with confidence because you are chosen by the Most High God, the King of Kings, you are no ordinary mortal.
